Blue Yonder and PredictHQ Partner to Reveal Demand Drivers for Retail and Manufacturing
Leading supply chain provider to offer customers access to verified data on impactful events that cause demand anomalies through partnership with demand intelligence provider
SAN FRANCISCO and SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Feb. 18, 2021 – To give its retail and manufacturing customers access to verified data on high-impact events that disrupt demand, Blue Yonder, a leader in digital supply chain and omni-channel commerce fulfillment, has partnered with demand intelligence provider PredictHQ, which works with brands such as Domino’s and Uber.
PredictHQ will integrate its data from four event categories – school holidays, public holidays, religious and cultural observances, and academic events – into Blue Yonder’s demand planning solution giving its customers access to verified, standardized and enriched data. Customers can elect to extend the enriched data categories to also include sports events, concerts or even natural disasters.
PredictHQ’s data can be used by Blue Yonder customers to further improve the quality of demand predictions, ensuring they are ready for surges and drops with more accurate forecasts and inventory movements. Automatic identification of these events is critical for understanding what external forces impact demand in an adaptable, autonomous supply chain.
“Large retail and manufacturing supply chains are complex. Achieving the highest possible levels of automation and granularity is critical. Being able to incorporate forecast-grade external intelligence into our demand prediction model is a significant accelerator for our customers,” said Christian Scherrer, product director and data scientist, Blue Yonder. “We’re excited to bring PredictHQ’s demand intelligence into our solution to make it even easier for our customers to drive huge efficiencies while ensuring they have the right amount of stock on hand to meet surges in demand every time.”
One of the key challenges for large retailers is understanding the differences in each of their stores and online channels, and how they should adapt their supply chain plans to accommodate those differences. Because school holidays, public holidays and observances vary significantly state by state and country by country, hyper-localized insight into each outlet’s context will enable companies to better understand their environment and make faster, more accurate supply chain decisions.
“Retailers are experiencing a huge transformation as more purchases are made online than ever before and the changing conditions in each city cause sharp increases in demand anomalies, costing millions,” PredictHQ cofounder and CEO Campbell Brown says. “Businesses are shifting to more dynamic and resilient approaches such as continuous forecasting. Finding the right tools and intelligence to do that is critical, so the partnership with Blue Yonder is a great way to fast track their customers to success.”
Blue Yonder’s artificial intelligence (AI)-driven demand planning solution already brings high levels of automation and accuracy to their customer’s supply chains, automatically ingesting hundreds of internal and external influencing factors that drive demand to provide a unique demand projection with calculated business impact and risk. Integrating PredictHQ’s enriched data takes this to a much higher level.
