Leading global fragrances and skincare producer and distributor selects range of JDA Demand solutions to unlock visibility into demand variability factors such as seasonality, product lifecycles and new product introductions
JDA Software, Inc., today announced that Angelini Beauty, leading global fragrances and skincare producer and distributor has selected a range of JDA® Demand solutions to give it the critical visibility it needs into supply and demand patterns. Angelini Beauty’s challenge is to best position itself to anticipate shopper demands across the 85 countries it operates within, underscored by a powerful demand management strategy powered by JDA.
Angelini Beauty is the business unit of Gruppo Angelini engaged in the perfumery and cosmetic industry. Angelini Beauty creates, develops and distributes fragrances and cosmetics all over the world through direct owned brands and licenses with fashion companies and luxury brands, such as Trussardi, Laura Biagiotti, Angel Schlesser, Gianfranco Ferré, Blumarine, Armand Basi, Mandarina Duck and Anne Möller. They operate directly in strategic markets such as Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal. Angelini Beauty’s fragrances and skincare products are distributed across Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Asia, the United States and Latin America, through a solid international sales network.
Prior to JDA, Angelini Beauty relied on manual, Excel-based spreadsheets and an ERP but needed a more powerful solution to centralize and synchronize demand management, while increasing forecast accuracy and critical demand visibility. They also needed to address localized seasonal demand variations throughout the selling season, along with extensive support for short lifecycle products, new product introductions and various demand patterns. With these complexities in mind, Angelini Beauty chose JDA to help it to predict demand across all product types — including fast- and slow-moving, lumpy, short lifecycle, trending, steady, highly seasonal and causal-driven products. Their objective is to create an accurate consensus demand plan for each type of product that is both manageable and forecastable.
JDA will help Angelini Beauty to:
- Rapidly respond to shifts in demand from new product introductions to end of life, driving high customer satisfaction levels
- Leverage multiple history streams, forecasting algorithms, promotional information and event data, improving forecast accuracy, with an impact of minimizing inventory carrying costs and stock outs
- Classify products based on demand patterns, apply the appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm and automatically assign the levels and parameter settings based on the product’s demand behavior
- Differentiate demand resulting from external factors (such as price effects and promotions) from demand history, providing the foundation for a more accurate baseline forecast.
“The proliferation of a multitude of products and consumer purchase and delivery options, along with global sourcing and distribution has made supply chains increasingly difficult to manage. Add to that shortening product lifecycles, and it is harder than ever for companies like Angelini Beauty to meet the service demands of retail and wholesale partners, much less those of end consumers,” said Johan Reventberg, president, EMEA, JDA. “With JDA Demand, Angelini Beauty will be able to face these challenges head-on, delivering the right products at the right time, while anticipating demand more accurately than ever before.”
