Leading transport manufacturer to deploy SaaS-based JDA Transportation Management solutions for end-to-end supply chain execution strategy
JDA Software, Inc., today announced that Scania, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, has selected SaaS-based JDA® Transportation Management to power its supply chain strategy.
Scania is a world-leading provider of transport solutions, including trucks and buses for heavy transport applications combined with an extensive product-related service offering. Scania offers vehicle financing, insurance and rental services to enable our customers to focus on their core business. Scania is also a leading provider of industrial and marine engines. Scania employs around 52,100 employees in about 100 countries.
Scania’s aim is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment. As part of this strategy, Scania needed to revamp its transportation management processes to be more agile, with smarter transportation strategies that lead to reduced waste and resource consumption. Scania chose to work with JDA based on its commitment to driving sustainable supply chain practices to help reduce overall impact on the environment.
“We selected JDA as a partner to support Scania Logistics in optimizing our flows by merging production planning and outbound processes.” said Hans Ekman, Manager Outbound development, Scania Logistics.
With JDA, Scania will manage all global outbound transports from Scania production units and body shops as well as manage their outbound logistics process from production all the way to the end customer.
“We will support Scania with critical real-time visibility to adjust truck routes and schedules to accommodate customers while ensuring those routes are sustainable. This will enable short lead times and predictable deliveries. We’re happy to support their broad scale JDA deployment and look forward to seeing the results of this effort, from a supply chain and sustainability perspective.” said Johan Reventberg, president, EMEA, JDA.
