Watt’s S.A. Optimizes its Supply Chain Leveraging JDA Manufacturing Planning Solutions
Leading Chilean food company implemented several JDA solutions to transform its supply chain and deliver superior customer service, reduce cost, and support business growth
JDA Software Group, Inc., today announced that leading Chilean food company Watt’s S.A. successfully implemented JDA® Manufacturing Planning solutions including JDA Demand, JDA Master Planning, JDA Inventory Optimization, and JDA Sequencing.
Watt’s S.A. is one of the main food companies in the country with well-known brands and a wide variety of products. The company has been operating since 1930 and its prestige has been based on the quality of its products and a commercial strategy that has allowed it to position itself in more than 30 countries.
Watt’s chose JDA solutions to integrate, centralize and optimize its forecasting, production, distribution and inventory levels. The company was looking to invest in technology to reduce days in inventory, raise the level of service and thus, make the company more efficient overall. The solutions went live in phases, with the first solution going live within six months of the purchase, and the last phase went live at the end of 2016.
“We chose JDA to support us in taking the company to a new level of efficiency and collaborative work across areas,” said Edgar Tepper, vice president of logistics, Watt’s S.A. “It was the first time that Watt’s implemented a transformational project of this magnitude and intricacies. It is a feeling of great satisfaction that with such a complex project, we are already using all the solutions from this phase. We benefited from JDA’s expertise not only in the solutions they provided us, but also their expertise as an implementation partner. “
“With more than 80 years of experience in production and distribution, Watt’s has proven to be a major food and beverage manufacturer in Chile,” said Antonio Boccalandro, vice president of sales, Latin America at JDA. “We are delighted that Watt’s has chosen JDA as a strategic partner to streamline its supply chain with the broad footprint of JDA Manufacturing Planning solutions that will provide them with the platform it needs to support continued growth. Today Watt’s has the ability to plan its Chilean supply chain with agility and higher levels of visibility than before, and is among South America’s leaders by having an optimized supply chain from forecasting, scheduling, inventory optimization, master planning and production scheduling.”
