Bio Pappel Transforms its Category Management Capabilities with JDA
Leading paper manufacturer in Latin America selects JDA to develop a more agile consumer-centric category management
JDA Software Group, Inc. today announced that the biggest paper producer in Latin America, Bio Pappel selected a range of JDA® Category Management solutions to overhaul its floor and space strategies to best address retailer and supplier partner expectations.
Bio Pappel is present in 15 states in Mexico, with 27 industrial plants, three more being planned and three located in the United States. The company has been the biggest paper producer in Latin America for 26 years. Bio Pappel is also the national leader of sustainable packaging, newsprint and bond paper production. The company has more than 8,000 collaborators and ranks second on the list of the most responsible companies in Mexico.
Bio Pappel needed a new solution to better understand consumer buying habits and trends in order to adapt its space and floor plans, gaining better agility and responsiveness to its customers’ needs and expectations. The company chose JDA based on its compatibility with auto service tools it uses as well as its ability to support Bio Pappel’s growth now and in the future, which will also help them gain a return on their investment.
Bio Pappel will deploy JDA Space Planning Plus, JDA Floor Planning Plus and JDA Assortment Optimization. Leveraging JDA Space Planning Plus, Bio Pappel will be able to create more profitable space plans based on the needs and behaviors of the real-world consumer. In addition, using JDA Floor Planning Plus, Bio Pappel will be able to collaborate with retailers on planning localized store displays based specifically on each stores’ needs and purchase habits.
“Our objective is to minimize operative work and focus on honing our category management processes overall, achieving visibility into the shopping analysis and details of SKUs in each store,” said Mixtly Mondragón, Category Manager, Bio Pappel SAB de CV. “We chose JDA as it is the defacto solution for space and floor planning in the market.”
“By using JDA solutions to understand the needs of local consumers and accurately satisfy those needs, Bio Pappel can create a significant competitive advantage,” said Antonio Boccalandro, regional vice president, sales, Latin America at JDA. “Moreover, the speed and automatization JDA provides will help this leading paper manufacturer to maximize category management efficiency and productivity.”
