Leading Mexican Footwear Retailer Capa de Ozono Takes its Operations to the Next Level with JDA
By implementing JDA Portfolio Merchandise Management, Capa de Ozono will continue to strengthen its IT platform to support company growth
JDA Software Group, Inc., today announced that Mexican footwear retailer Capa de Ozono went live with JDA® Portfolio Merchandise Management. This is not the first JDA solution implemented in Capa de Ozono, as since 2014 the company also leverages JDA Allocation and JDA Size Scaling, achieving a 20 percent reduction in stock-outs as a result.
Headquartered in Leon, Mexico, Capa de Ozono is a fashion shoe retailer with 30 years in the Mexican market. The company is well known for the quality, innovation and diversity of its footwear products. Capa de Ozono distributes its brand in more than 200 stores, while also selling its products through an extensive network of distributors across Mexico.
Historically, the company’s retail planners had relied on manual processes, Excel spreadsheets and their own intuition to allocate merchandise across its 200 distribution points, as well as define size curves. However, as the company pursued an aggressive growth strategy, executives recognized that planners needed new solutions that would increase productivity and accuracy — leading to greater shopper satisfaction and higher sales.
The key business objectives behind expanding the JDA footprint included creating efficient and lean processes and boosting productivity in order to help Capa de Ozono grow towards becoming a world-class organization. Leveraging JDA Portfolio Merchandise Management, Capa de Ozono will be able to meet goals like controlling inventory efficiently, reducing markdowns and reaching defined key performance indicators (KPIs) for product availability at sale points. In addition, the JDA Portfolio Merchandise Management implementation also focused on integrating the new solution with JDA Allocation and JDA Size Scaling, to have the right product at the required store.
“The key to our success is having the right pair of shoes, in the right size, available every time a shopper enters one of the Capa de Ozono stores,” said Stefan Hromatka, finance director at Capa de Ozono. “Our JDA solutions have enabled us to use real statistical demand data to match product attributes with specific stores, significantly increasing the accuracy of our assortments and driving higher sales. We are very happy with the early results of our JDA software implementation.”
“As omni-channel competition increases in Mexico, retailers need to differentiate themselves not only with outstanding products, but also with excellent service and high levels of product availability,” said Antonio Boccalandro, group vice president of sales, Latin America at JDA. “We are delighted that JDA solutions are helping Capa de Ozono achieve greater levels of consumer satisfaction and fewer lost sales opportunities. Combined with the retailer’s fashion-forward product line, this new level of allocation accuracy is positioning Capa de Ozono to meet its ambitious goals for profitable growth.”
