JDA Expands UK Footprint with London Office Opening in Famed Gherkin Building
Office includes new Customer Experience Centre to focus on supply chain innovations and increase face-to-face customer contact; complements existing JDA Bracknell office of 300+ associates
JDA Software, Inc. today announced the opening of a new office and Experience Centre in London, underscoring its increased focus in the UK market and expanding reach across EMEA with its supply chain and retail solutions. JDA will also use the office, at 30 St Mary Axe (known as The Gherkin), to showcase digital edge supply chain innovations with customers across the UK and mainland Europe. This new office and Experience Centre will allow JDA to showcase tangible, hands-on innovations, while also helping customers build strategies for digital supply chain success.
JDA powers global supply chains for more than 4,000 customers worldwide including 76 of the top 100 retailers, 77 of the top consumer goods companies and eight of the top 10 third party logistics providers. JDA customers Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and RS Components Ltd leverage JDA solutions to continuously drive supply chain transformations. JDA also continues to be the only company named a leader in all five Gartner Magic Quadrants for supply chain and retail merchandising solutions1.
“Despite Brexit, London will – and has proven to always be – a critical business hub that holds the key to success for international organisations. We concur with the Mayor’s assertion that London is very much ‘open for business,’ and I know through personal experience just how amazingly well-connected the City is,” said Johan Reventberg, president, EMEA, JDA. “This new office helps us tap into the phenomenal talent base in London as we continue to aggressively hire on the digital talent front, and, on the innovation front, this office enables us to show our customers first-hand the supply chain of the future from the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality and robotics.”
The London Experience Centre bolsters JDA’s existing UK presence, which includes a long-established office with 340+ associates in Bracknell, on the edge of the Thames Valley, an area often referred to as the UK’s Silicon Valley.
The expansion into London comes at a time when JDA is searching for digital professionals to further increase the velocity of its new SaaS and intelligent edge offerings. This year, JDA will continue to aggressively hire data scientists, software engineers, product managers and other digital professionals focused on innovation and embracing advanced analytics, mobility, artificial intelligence (AI), IoT and edge solutions. The market for supply chain solutions has exploded in recent years with the emergence of Amazon, Alibaba and the like offering same-day or next-day delivery to customers ordering online and the changes in market dynamics are forcing leading retailers, consumer goods manufacturers and many other companies to rethink their operations and strategies to fulfill on customers’ enhanced expectations.
“London is a leading destination for U.S. tech businesses looking to expand their global footprint. With more professional developers than any other European city, software companies such as JDA can benefit from London’s diverse, highly skilled tech talent pool. London has a similar culture of innovation and creativity as other U.S. tech hubs and we look forward to welcoming more ambitious American tech companies that are looking to expand or setup in London,” said Laura Citron, CEO London & Partners, The Mayor of London’s official promotional agency.
The official opening of the office will be marked with a ceremony, today Wednesday 18th April which is open to JDA’s customers and partners. The event will begin with a Customer and Partner Forum covering the impact of innovation in the supply chain of the future, the application of machine learning in next-generation retail planning, and the impacts of IoT and data ecosystems on supply chain visibility. It will be followed by a drinks reception and live demo sessions exploring JDA’s Digital Control Tower, JDA Retail.me and Connected Store solutions, plus uses of virtual reality and augmented reality.
